Female homosexuals are known as ‘Lesbians’ and male homosexuals are generally called as ‘Gays’. However, Gay refers to both the genders of homosexuals, males and females. Discrimination

Some people discriminate against gays. However, stringent laws have been made in many countries to safeguard the rights of the gay people.

Majority of people in the world are heterosexual and because of this they usually aren't discriminated against.

Sexual Relations

They have sexual relationships with other gay men. Generally, a gay man does not get attracted to a straight man.

Heterosexual men have sexual relationships with women. However, it has been seen that few straight men also have been in a relationship with gay men.

Family

Conceiving a baby requires two people of opposite sex; and due to this reason gay men cannot have their own children. However, many gay couples have adopted children and have utilized other medical ways to have the joy of their own family.

Heterosexuality includes people of opposite sexes in a couple; and this makes it easier for a man and woman to start their own family by giving birth to a child/children.

Legalization

Gay relationships and marriages are legalized in many countries but there are still a large number of countries that do not allow legalization for gay couples.

Heterosexual relationships and marriages are legalized and respected all over the world.
