Sportsmanship refers to ‘fair and generous behavior or treatment of others in a sporting contest.’ Sportsmanship indicates that the sport or activity is enjoyed for the sake of the sport or activity. Gamesmanship is based on the belief that winning is the only thing that matters and that the game must be won at any cost, even if that cost includes some unethical practices. |
Special Olympics and Paralympics are two different worldwide events. Like the Olympics, the Paralympics are a worldwide competition where athletes from all over the world and compete for gold, silver, or bronze place in their field. The Special Olympics, on the other hand, are hosted by the Special Olympics organization. Their events take place every day, all around the world. The goal here is not competition like in the Paralympics, but rather participation. |
The primary difference between the Olympics and Paralympics is that while most of the participants in the Olympics are able-bodies, the participants in the Paralympics are affected by some form of physical or intellectual disabilities. |
