Firstly, there were video camera recorders, but now with advancement in technology and passage of time digicams are available with low prices and varieties of options. Camcorder was basically designed for television recording; however in 1992, Ampex used D1 "form-factor" to create DCT, the first digital video format that utilized data compression. If one wants to store memories of their life’s precious moments, then there is nothing to beat a camcorder’s high quality videos when it comes to sharpness and clarity.

They are way more advanced and instead of being recorded in reels, the images and videos are stored in a memory card inserted in it and are converted to digital information that a computer can use to create the image. Nowadays, digital cameras come in a wide range and almost all the brands include many varieties of cameras that a middleman can easily afford.
