Key Difference: The sun sign is the astrological sign in which the sun is at the time of one’s birth. The moon sign is similar to the sun sign; however, instead of the sun’s position, it takes into consideration the moon’s location. The rising sign is the astrological sign that was ascending on the eastern horizon at the specific time of one’s birth.

Astrology is a complicated field. Even though there are many that do not believe in astrology, there are many others who do. These people not only believe it, but they are ardent followers. There are some who believe in it so much, that they actually plan their entire day around the auspicious moments as per astrology, or follow the advice of their astrologers in every single decision.

In Astrology, the heavens are divided into twelve parts. Each part has an equivalent zodiac sign. The order of the astrological signs is Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Each astrological sign is 30º of the ecliptic, starting at the vernal equinox, also known as the First Point of Aries. Astrology believes that a person’s character, personality, and luck all depend on the position of the Sun, Moon, and the planets in these houses. For example, the sun is in Aries, while the Moon is Leo, and Mars is in Virgo, etc. This will all have an impact on the person and their life.

The sun sign is the most commonly followed aspect of astrology in the world. When someone says that I am a Leo, or a Cancer, or Aries, even though they don’t mention it, they are referring to their sun sign. When someone asks, ‘what is your sign?’, this is the sign that they are referring to. When all the magazines, newspapers, and websites give the horoscope, they do it on the basis of sun signs.
What is the sun sign? A sun sign is an astrological sign in which the sun is at the time of one’s birth. For example, if the sun is in Scorpio at the time of a person’s birth, the person will forever more be considered as a Scorpio. However, a sun sign is not the only thing that makes an impact on someone’s life. There is also the moon sign and the rising sign.

The moon sign is similar to the sun sign; however, instead of the sun’s position, it takes into consideration the moon’s location. Whichever house the moon is in at the time of a person’s birth is their moon sign.
The Rising Sign is slightly different than the sun sign and the moon sign. Unlike the other two, it does not depend on the position of a planetary object. The rising sign depends on the astrological signs itself. At the time of one’s birth, whichever house is rising on the eastern horizon is the Rising Sign.
In astrology, the Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and Rising Sign all have their own importance. As already stated, the sun sign is considered to be the most prominent of the three, each of the other two has their own importance. All of the three are considered to make up the person. The sun sign describes a person’s ego and personality. It is what the person is truly made up of. The moon sign describes a person’s inner emotional self. It gives insight into the way the person loves and feels. The moon also governs the moods.
