include("ad4th.php"); ?>Test tube baby or IVF is a process of fertilizing the eggs outside of the body. This method is commonly used when a normal baby or a natural birth is not possible. IVF or test tube baby is a medical procedure that is opted for when a couple is unable to have a normal baby. This process is known as an alternative to infertility. A normal baby is a baby that is born via a natural fertilization.
Test Tube Baby, scientifically known as In Vitro Fertilization is the process of fertilizing an egg outside of the woman’s body. IVF is a treatment for infertility and is considered as an option when all other inexpensive options have failed. IVF is an expensive procedure that is done by appropriate medical labs. The process of IVF is such. The ovum or ova (eggs) of a woman are removed during a natural menstrual cycle; these are then placed in a dish with the sperm (this could be from the partner or a donor). The sperm is allowed to fertilize the eggs in a natural way in fluids, which is then placed back into the womb of the mother for continuing pregnancy.
include("ad3rd.php"); ?>The term ‘In Vitro’ can be translated to “in glass” in Latin, referring to the dishes used in the laboratory being glass. However, it has now become a word referring to any biological procedure being carried outside the body. The informal term of this is known as test tube baby referring to the process of fertilization that used to happen in a glass instrument; however, the process of fertilization is carried out in a Petri dish rather than test tubes. There are two types of IVF: natural and mild. Natural IVF is when the eggs are procured from the woman’s fallopian tubes following a natural cycle, while in mild IVF drugs are used to stimulate the ovaries resulting in producing around 2-7 eggs. During fertilization, the eggs may be allowed to become fertilized naturally or the sperm can be injected directly into the eggs using intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Recent experiments have been aimed at making IVF a much cheaper process.
A normal baby is baby that has been born via natural pregnancy and fertilization. The process of a natural fertilization is when the ovum is fertilized by the sperm in the woman’s womb. The fertilization usually occurs in the ampulla of the uterine tube. During sexual intercourse, the man ejaculates sperm into the woman’s womb. If the woman is ovulating or woman has finished one cycle and the egg is released into the womb for fertilization. The egg meets the sperm, which penetrates the egg resulting in fertilization. Following fertilization, the egg travels down the fallopian tubes into the uterus where it remains to develop into a baby. This baby is known as a normal pregnancy. It is also known as an In Vivo Fertilization as the process takes place inside the woman’s body.
IVF or test tube baby is a way to have a baby, if natural pregnancy is not possible due to various factors. A normal baby is just a baby that is born through a natural fertilization process, while a test tube baby is a baby that is fertilized in a Petri dish. The term ‘normal’ in this article is used in comparison of a natural fertilization to in vitro fertilization and in no way refers to a test tube baby being any different once it is born. The only difference lies between how the eggs were fertilized and the baby was conceived.
