Difference between Marble and Granite
Key Difference: Marble and Granite, both are stone, which make them hard, expensive and time consuming to install. Marble is a kind of hard, usually highly polished stone. On the other hand, granite is also a type of hard but usually grey or red rock. Both are used for sculptures and building.
There are very few differences between marble and granite because both are natural products, which were created deep within earth millions of years ago. They almost have similar elements but their formats are very different. Granite is a much stronger and harder stone than marble. Granite is more stain resistant and marble is compressed limestone primarily with other impurities.
Marble is a metamorphic rock that is pertaining to or characterized by change of form. It is composed of re-crystallized carbonate minerals. The problem of the marble stone is that it is a porous stone so it can stain. As it is a rock, the most commonly used stones are limestone and dolomite rock. Limestone makes up about 10% of the total volume of all sedimentary rocks and has number of uses as a building material, as total for the base of roads, as a white substance used for coloring or as a filler making in products such as paints or toothpaste.

On the other hand, granite is an igneous rock with at least 20% quartz (a kind of hard substance found in rocks, often in the form of crystals) of volume. It carries a slight grainy texture. Granite is more preferable for flooring tiles in the public and in the commercial building and monuments. It is extensively used as a dimension stone that is it is fabricated to specific sizes or shapes.
Both are rock so they can get dirty marks, like oily food or painting colors can become impossible to remove. Both require resealing regularly, so that it will not permanently keeps a mark on it. A usual rule for it is to reseal it every year. Marble and granite, both comparatively are heatproof, and don't burn easily, only if it is a very hot pot placed on either type of stone could crack it. They start at about $60 per square foot but granite can go as high as $200 per square foot.
Granite is used for the thousands of years in interior and exterior applicants. However, marble is the most elegant natural stone which gives such stylishness to the room that it increases the richness of the house. There is no doubt that the character and depth of the natural stones are worth and cannot be matched with man-made stones. The longevity, long-lasting and appearance automatically give the home a new life. Both are natural stones, thus they have extraordinary range of colors and thousands of colors patterns. In some places there is very limited usage of colors of patterns, thus very few colors are famous and visible.
