Difference between iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus

Key Difference: iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus differ in terms of screen size. While iPhone 6S comes with a 47 inch LED IPS display, 750 x 1334 pixels and a 326 ppi, the iPhone 6S Plus comes with a 5.5 inch LED IPS display, 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 401 ppi.

Apple recently announced the latest addition to its flagship line up. Last year it announced the release of iPhone 6S and keeping with the tradition that it started from iPhone 4, by launching an upgraded S model the following year; this year marked the release of the upgraded iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

iPhone 6S Plus shares a lot of similarities with its little brother, the 6S. Both announced in September and are expected to be released sometime later in September 2015. iPhone 6S and its iPhone 6S Plus are both made from a newer Series 7000 aluminum, solving the bending problem that could be found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

One of the main difference between the two phones – iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus is the screen size. While iPhone 6S comes with a 47 inch LED IPS display, 750 x 1334 pixels and a 326 ppi, the iPhone 6S Plus comes with a 5.5 inch LED IPS display, 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 401 ppi making the screen better compared to its little brother. Both the phones come with the ion-strengthened glass and oleophobic coating.

The biggest upgrades made to the phone is common in both – 3D Touch Display, a better and faster A9 chip, fancy new camera features and a new Rose Gold color. 3D Touch display is an improvement to the touch and tap found in most phones. A new haptic system on the phones can now read the force that is put on the screen and respond according to that. A new ‘peek and pop’ feature allows users to hold down for peeking into system files and apps and then pop that app to the screen by continuing to hold it down or going back to the app they were on by picking their finger off the screen.

The faster chip is said to offer a 70% increase in processor speed and a 90% increase in speed for the GPU. However, no clock speed or RAM has been announced so far by the company. Both the phones come with a swanky new 12 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front snapper. New camera features include Live Photos (where the camera records a one second video before the phone and a one second video after the photo) and recording in 4k.

Another difference between iPhone 6S and 6S Plus lies with the battery: the iPhone 6S comes with 1715 mAh battery and the 6S Plus comes with a 2915 mAh battery. The rest of the features are identical in the two phones. Both the phones also come in 16, 64 and 128 GB options and are priced the same as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus when they were initially launched.
