Difference between Wart and Plantar Wart
Key Difference: A wart is a rough growth that appears most commonly on the hands and fingers or on the soles of the feet. They can also appear on the other parts of the body like the face, arms or legs and sometimes grow in the genital or anal area. Plantar wart is a type of wart. They are both caused by HPV or Human Papillomavirus.
Warts are common ailments caused by the HPV virus. A wart is a rough growth that appears most commonly on the hands and fingers or on the soles of the feet. They can also appear on the other parts of the body like the face, arms or legs and sometimes grow in the genital or anal area. They may appear in any size that is larger or smaller. The term warts are sometimes interlinked with pimples because their appearance is red in color, but they are also usually white and grey colored. A wart is usually visible. They can be very painful when they get infected and inflamed. Otherwise, warts are usually painless.
Plantar wart is a type of wart. It is also caused by HPV or Human Papillomavirus. The plantar warts are not harmful, and eventually, within two years, most warts go away without any treatment. Warts itself may cause irritation or pain, depending on their location. Plantar warts are basically very small in size. Sometimes, they may grow in cluster, again depending on the location, those are called as mosaic warts. They are also spread by person to person. A person’s risk of getting a wart varies mostly from hand or foot.
